Ok, I'll be blunt, and brief about this world, because I sadly didn't find this enjoyable most of the time. Mainly from the fact, that most of the challenges required damage boosting for one, having me run through them while being invisible after taking a hit. Notable examples include Worlds 1-3, and 1-4, which have challenges which require, what else? Damage boosting. I'm not a big fan of them, unless it's absolutely required. But here? The challenges here just feel forced in terms of difficulty.
World 1-1 has just far too many poison mushrooms in blocks, to be honest. And some of the ? blocks have power-ups in them, including coins! Don't add too many poison mushrooms, and at least give the player a clue as to where the actual power-ups are, such as a ring of coins, or a coin on top of the ? block with the power-up in it.
Aesthetic-wise, Worlds 1-1, 1-3 and 1-4 look good. The only exception being World 1-2, which just looks like a standard cave level. HOWEVER! I noticed some of the lava tiles in the cave level cutting off here and there, as well as it having an incredibly annoying challenge with the fireballs and platforms before the checkpoint. I swear, this requires damage boosting, and I hate challenges and level design like this that forces you to lose your power-up. I want to go out of topic one moment, and say as well, that the volcanoes in World 1-3 just add more forced difficulty onto the level, which is incredibly unnecessary, if you ask me. And the pipe in World 1-2 with one of the warps sending you to an instant death? That's a big no-no.
The Bowser fight in World 1-4 had an interesting concept, but the execution was rather poor. I think only two fireball-spitting piranha plants would've worked, but three? That sounds a bit too forced. I don't have a lot to say without sounding like a broken record, to be honest. This level is just average. It has forced, unnecessarily high difficulty, as well as some challenges that require OUTRIGHT DAMAGE BOOSTING to get through. And don't get me started on some of the other things that annoyed me, such as the instant kill warp pipe. However, I will say, that some of the challenges, SOME of them are good, and that the aesthetics in Worlds 1-1, 1-3 and 1-4 are good! Sadly, even with that said, I have to say: "REJECTED: REVISION IN DIFFCULTY AND LEVEL DESIGN REQUIRED". It's just not a fun world overall to play through. Yes, it is possible, but don't expect any real fun from playing this world. Real shame too, since I do see some potential in this.
